Why Rotary Has Membership Dues — and How Members Benefit

At the Erie Rotary Club, everyone who serves is valued—but there’s a difference between volunteering once and being a member. Members commit to making a lasting impact, contributing their time, talent, and support to sustain meaningful service in our community and beyond.

We warmly welcome anyone curious about Rotary to experience our club by volunteering at events and service projects. Some opportunities are open to the broader community, and we love sharing the joy of service with all who participate. After experiencing a few projects, club events, or socials, many people choose to deepen their involvement by becoming members, gaining access to leadership opportunities, training, and a global network of Rotarians.

We also recognize that some people prefer to volunteer occasionally. Through our connections with outstanding local nonprofits, we’re happy to introduce you to organizations where your time and energy can make a difference—membership isn’t required to serve.

Membership dues support the coordination and resources that make Rotary service possible, including project planning, volunteer support, insurance, training, technology, and Rotary International programs. For members, dues also provide:

  • Impactful service opportunities locally and globally

  • Leadership development and access to Rotary resources

  • Connection and fellowship with Erie and worldwide Rotarians

  • Support for youth and community programs

By joining as a member, you invest in a community that multiplies the impact of every hour volunteered. That’s why we are called members—not just volunteers.

Take your time. When you're ready, we’ll be here—excited to meet you.  Complete this form if you want to talk with a member.
